Earth & Ether Ensemble are Canadian artist-improvisors coming together to create unexpected soundscapes and sonic conversations. We explore the sounds of the world and beyond through improvisation and listening along the ‘space/time continuum’ (Pauline Oliveros). Instruments and environmental sounds are drawn from different locations and traditions including handmade instruments of stones, strings, wood (Gayle Young); digital composition in real-time (James Harley), Persian tar and daf (Reza Yazdanpanah); Japanese shakuhachi (Gerard Yun), as well as a wind gong, chimes, a conch (Stacey Bliss), and more! A sonic immersive treat awaits the listener.
